In the Raiskite rocks in the Middle region of Stara Planina mountain there is the highest waterfall of all 300 waterfalls in Bulgaria - Raiskoto Praskalo. It is located below a reserve in Bulgaria - "Djendema". The waterfall is situated among the inaccessable precipices, peaks and rock ridges, plant and animal variety.
The Raisko Praskalo waterfall is not only the highest waterfall in Bulgaria, but it is also the highest one on the whole Balkan peninsula. Its hight is 124,5 meters. It gathers water from an eternal snow-driff located near to Botev peak. The waterfall is also near to Rai hut. The waterfall sets the beginning of a small feeder of Biala river and its catchment is part of "Djendema" reserve and spreads the south slopes of Botev peak, Malak Iumruk, Mlechnia Chal and Jaltenets. Biala river flows through the alpine pastures and Djendema reserv - a reign of the inaccessable precipices, peaks and rock ridges, plant and animal variety. The Biala river has also other affluents - Djendemski Dol and Goliama and Malka Barzovitsa ravines. The Raisko Praskalo waterfall is also called Kalofersko Praskalo.
The great view is stunning. The waterfall is being visited by a lot of tourist. In spite of this the waterfall and the surrounding is still preserved and untouched.
